For the last nine years LUNAFEST has been celebrating women film makers, showcasing their films and talents in communities across the United States. For the first time since its incepction the national, traveling film festival made its first stop in Knoxville in 2008. LUNAFEST features short films by, for, and about women. LUNA, the makers of a nutritional bar for women, wanted to find a way to support women's issues and give back to the community. In addition to providing national exposure for emerging female film makers, they also support one of the most important causes for women today by donating 15 percent of the proceeds nationally to the Breast Cancer Fund. The remaining 85 percent of the proceeds from LUNAFEST Knoxville go directly to The Restoration House of East Tennessee.
Since its inception, LUNAFEST has raised over $250,000 nationally. The first year of LUNAFEST Knoxville was extremely successful and we are already in the planning stages for 2009. If you would like to get involved or get the word out you can contact
